Understanding Tarot was used for a while as a Tarot Course. It has now been returned to its origional format as a book.

This is a book aimed at those new to the Tarot as well as the more advanced student as it is indepth.

& there is also the Tarot Mini Guide. This is a book which gives you the keywords connected to the cards. This is an idea book for the total beginner who wishes to have a simple at a glance reference to the cards.

A Bit About Tarot: What are they, how do they work & where do they come from?

A deck of tarot cards is made up of two separate deck, the Major deck/Arcana which has 22 cards & the Minor deck/Arcana which has 56. Totalling 78 cards in all.

Their true history is steeped in confusion, some say they came from Italy during the early 15th century. Have a search online & you will find many different answers. Two facts do emerge:

1. they started life as a game & 2. it was the Rider Waite deck designed by A.E. Waite a mystic, & drawn by Pamela Coleman Smith where published by the Rider Company in 1909 which launched Tarot as we know it in the present day.

The cards themselves are, especially within Rider Waite decks or there clones, based on symbolic & archetypal images which in part the subconscious mind recognises & can work with in order to bring results. 

They can be used in many ways & as a mystical, subconscious or therapeutic tool they are extremely versatile which has probably been a great part of their success.
